Objectives: The objectives of the first phase were as follows:
The second phase, which deals with the third and fourth objectives, mentioned below, requires primary data collection. In the second phase, information about recent deliveries, pregnant mothers' information will be collected from the hospital wards and such cases will be followed up for one year. The information regarding mortality and morbidity information of the mothers and her child will be collected. Follow-up of such cases would give insight in to the causes of morbidity and mortality of infants and neonates. The vast experience of Dr. Vidyasagar, Co-Investigator of this project will be very useful in identifying the causes of maternal and child morbidity and mortality. The objectives of the second phase are as follows:
The primary data collection could not be initiated mainly because the budget allocation to this continuing project was rather insufficient to initiate the primary data collection. |
